Verde Valley by Train A 4 hour scenic ride on the historic route from Clarkdale to Perkinsville and back -- into Arizona's other "grand canyon" -- is an unforgettable experience. Verde Canyon, accessible only by rail features spectacular panoramic views, past towering cliffs, and depending on the time of year black hawks, great blue herons, or the bald or golden eagle.

All cars have restrooms and are climate-controlled. The four-hour trip is complemented by music and live narrative about the canyon's history, geology, wildlife, and waterfowl. Train and depot meet ADA requirements.

  • Schedules vary with the season
  • Depart at 1 p.m. and return approximately 5 p.m. except on days when double trains are scheduled. On those days, trains depart at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • Starlight Tours depart at 5:30 p.m.
  • Trains may be chartered for large groups on any day, with advanced scheduling.
  • Visitors from Sedona can arrive by car within 30 minutes.
